About Balinese Community Association of WA Inc.
The Balinese community of Western Australia first started around 2003 with a small group of Balinese community members from the Perth area. It was decided that a formal non-profit – community association was needed to assist in providing the local Balinese residents the opportunity to socialise and to ensure that their cultural needs were accommodated. Formally, our community was built on the sixteenth of March 2004 as a non-profit organisation. The community currently has approximately 180 members living in Western Australia.
Since our early establishment, the community has grown in membership and also has generated interest amongst both local and overseas residents. In order to maintain the culture of the Balinese we regularly celebrate important celebrations within the Balinese calendar including, Galungan and Kuningan Day. The Balinese community maintains a mutual relationship with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Perth Western Australia (KJRI- Perth) and regularly contributes into several KJRI functions and activities in Western Australia.
